If the good Lord pulled you aside, found something you've done right for a long time and told you he wanted to reward you by sending you to three of the greatest football games of all time. And you get to choose which three those were.

What games are they?

For me, in no particular order:

1. Earl Campbell/UT vs OU 1977

2. Dallas vs Washington, Thanksgiving day, 1976?

3. Vince Young, MNC game vs USC

I would have loved to have seen the Ice Bowl, but would not have wanted to be there to watch it so it didn't make my list.

I like your #1 and #3. I would probably pick a Superbowl for my 3rd game just to say I've Been to a SB. Doesn't really matter which one. I'm from Houston so I've never really had a dog in that race.

Well, if it doesn't matter to you, then you should probably stick with a Houston Super Bowl, like say the Steelers vs Vikings in the last game played at Rice Stadium. The Steel Curtain would have been something to watch, the Purple People Eaters were pretty nasty too.

Big Shootout 1969

NC game v. USC (my son will never forgive me for not getting tickets)

UT v, Navy 1964 Cotton Bowl

Great thread

I'd go with Texas' 7-6 win over Norte Dame in 1934, the Big Shootout of 1969 and the win over USC in 2006. It's ironic that my selections are separated by over 35 years. :)

2006 USC- Texas in Rose Bowl

1996 Big 12 Championship vs Nebraska "Roll Left"

1964 Cotton Bowl Texas- Navy

Saw the 1977 Texas-OU game as a student and it's in my top 5 of UT games.

Texas vs USC - MNC game

Colorado vs Michigan - Stewart to Westbrook hail mary pass

Any of those Army vs Navy games in the 1990s separated by a FG.

My three as well, however most on these boards weren't alive for the Arkansas and Navy games.

Top 3 Texas Games:

3. 1996 vs. Nebraska (Roll Left)

2. 2005 Rose Bowl vs. Michigan (We'll Be Back)

1. 2006 National Championship vs. USC (InVinceable)

Top 3 College Football Games:

3. 2007 Boise State vs. Oklahoma (Statue Left)

2. 2013 Auburn vs. Alabama (Kick Bama Kick)

1. 2006 National Championship vs. USC (InVinceable)

It's hard to keep "Roll Left" out of this top 3

Some good lists here

I can't pick just three, but if one of them had to be a non-UT game I would go with either the Doug Flutie game with the last second hail mary, or the Cal-Stanford game where the game ended like a rugby scrum.

If I were taken back I would want to have my memory erased so that I could get the full enjoyment from the experience.

Just UT games in the Mack era:

2001 Holiday Bowl vs. Washington - Major brought us back from way behind in the 4th, and threw for something like 470 yds.

2005 vs OU - redemption and payback

2008 vs A&M - just beat the hell out of Aggies and Colt had that long TD run to seal it. That 2008 team was one of my favorite Texas teams of all time.
