You might want to get you a slouch hat . . . .

More smoke on Chucky now

I believe that Patterson is allowing input from the different factions of BMD's

I think they are divided into

1 Saban

2 Fisher

3 John Harbaugh

4 briles

5 Chucky ( with Red in the lead)

I think it will be one of those guys, but he will have Strong as a hold card just in case

Briles wears a baseball cap and no way Patterson hires him knowing the shit storm that it will bring

According to a google search, slouch hat/cap resembles more of what NS or Fisher wear than Briles

so what is the info exactly? I dont think Briles has even had an interview yet. Read something he was in Waco today. I wouldnt mind the hire, but I think SP is waiting for answer 1A after tonight

does this go all the way back to Mcphaul and macks dinner with Briles on the recruiting trip?? mayb the smokescreen was for Briles all along.. hell im lost day by day on this

Has Saban commented publicly on staying at Bama? Other than he is too old to start elsewhere which is not a definite comment.

No, there would be no need for a smokescreen for Briles or anyone else other than Saban. Why? Because they would come crawling.

really cause the only crawling ive seen is coaches crawling into fat pay raises curtusey of the Texas Longhorns Football Coach stimulus package lol

From what I'm hearing we might need to start looking into Texas slouch hats. FWIW
Royal, can you clarify if this points to Briles or Saban? Slouch Hats seem to look a bit more like Saban's panama hats. Slouch caps seem to look a bit more like Briles baseball caps.

What I've been told is that Briles truly covets this job and will sign on the dotted line in an instant. My info is from someone closely plugged in, because I'm not one to spout off. Can't confirm if or when an interview has been scheduled. It's more my source's hunch that the job will be offered and accepted. That being said, it could happen here in the next 24-48 hours. The sticking point is what to do about Fisher? If they wait and interview him and he declines, it may be difficult to bring in Briles, making Strong the next logical step. My source doesn't believe Saban is an option. FWIW

Briles cannot wait a week after the shit show he put on in Glendale? If he covets the job, he'll wait. What is he, a kid before Christmas?

Not sure we cater to Briles like that. I think we'll do what Texas needs to do and then, and only then, would we offer Briles. Not sure Art is in a position to dictate to Texas what we need to do.

Briles is not my first choice and I think we have to throw last night's game out the window as a barometer to his coaching ability. I think his full body of work and grooming of quarterbacks speaks for itself. Even though many consider him a 2nd tier coach I believe nationally he would be considered a home run hire for Texas. Not sure how he is viewed across all the different camps or if he would be someone to get all the bb's back in the box. I do believe with the right DC he could get us on the right track about as quickly as anyone.

If he covets the job as suggested...he will wait. I still believe SP goes through the process completely. Fisher is the more challenging one because of his bowl date. I think SP would like to avoid, if possible, being jilted at the altar by Fisher making it appear our new coach is a consolation prize not to mention losing valuable time to be putting a staff together. Obviously, securing Harbaugh or Saban could happen long before Fisher's game.
