Texas wide receiver Miles Onyegbule who played in 12 games last year as a true freshman suffered a tear in his left pectoral muscle and will miss the remainder of spring and summer drills. It is not known when Onyegbule will return but the team hopes to have him back in time for the season opener at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium vs. Wyoming on September 1st. It is reported that Onyegbule will need surgery to repair the tear which leaves Texas a bit thin at the Wide Receiver position, especially with Darius Terrell's announcement last week that he would transfer from the Texas program.

Let's be honest was Onyegbule really going to be a big contributor this year? Doubtful.

Nah, Mack Brown only gave him a scholarship because he felt sorry for him. He was a true freshman last year and played in 12 games. He could make a definite impact this year. Cayleb Jones and Marcus Johnson will scrap for playing time too but Miles will definitely see the ball more this year.

Wasn't he supposed to get some looks at h-back and/or TE? Didn't he get a lot bigger this offseason?

I hope we have him for the start of the season.

Yeah, he packed on like 50 lbs and was supposed to play power back due to our lacking attempts to play a real tight end. On another note I have been saying this all along but we need to make an offer to Trent Gow from Mansfield. Dude would play H-Back like a champ. Smythe is a stud but Gow's versatility would serve us well. I just hope our receivers don't start dropping like flies....
