Women's Hoops: Big 12-SEC Challenge Schedule Set

The Big 12 /SEC Women's Basketball Challenge kicks off on December 1, 2016 with Oklahoma/Kentucky and the Texas Longhorns hosting the South Carolina Gamecocks at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin.

The Challenge will matchup all ten Big 12 schools against Southeastern conference schools over a 4-day period.

Texas and South Carolina have met twice before, with the Longhorns coming out on top on both occasions:

• March 20, 1988 – Texas 77, South Carolina 58 (Austin, Texas)
• November 25, 2005 – Texas 59, South Carolina 55 (Freeport, Bahamas)

Since the Big 12/SEC Challenge began in 2014, the Longhorns are a perfect 2-0 against SEC teams in the event:

• December 21, 2014 – Texas 67, Texas A&M 65 (Little Rock, Arkansas)
• December 20, 2015 – Texas 61, Arkansas 50 (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma)

The Longhorns finished the season ranked at #7 in both the Associated Press and USA TODAY Coaches Polls.
