As of Saturday morning, Charlie Strong had not formally accepted an offer to become the next head coach at Texas, multiple sources told Yahoo Sports.

Strong met with his staff at the Louisville football facility at 9 a.m. ET and told them he has not made a final decision.

Late Friday night, as reports swirled that Strong had accepted the Texas job, the coach of the Cardinals had a conversation with his boss, athletic director Tom Jurich, and told him he had not taken the job. Louisville is still actively trying to keep Strong from going to Austin.

Jurich has been on vacation in Colorado this week, but he was planning to cut the trip short and return to Louisville on Saturday. Jurich and Strong were hoping to meet face-to-face today

I can understand your frustration as i am frustrated also. I think a lot of the blame needs to be placed on the "higher ups at Texas" who decided to be a dumbass and release the info last night. Not sure what the agenda is but there was no need to Texas to announce at 10pm on a friday night when 2 BCS games going down to the wire. I feel its more on that person/persons than anyone else.

I think that is the case also. And bc of that Texas isnt the best coaching spot in America. There is too many people in the kitchen and more wanting to be in that meddle with not only the big issues like this but the day to day BS.

These posts are funny. If In 24 hours after he accepts the job no one in America will remember there was a delay in formally accepting the job. Hell maybe 2 hours. The attention span of the average American is about 2 minutes.

The search firms job is to vet candidates find out who has legit interest and present the hiring person (assuming Patterson) with a list of qualified potential hires.

The hiring process is all on Patterson. The search committee has already done their job.
