SignUp Now!Couldn't stand him as our OC.I will say this, I have been critical of Greg Davis many times, but he is a great offensive coach. What he did to transform the Texas offense with VY then to Colt was awesome.
I'm not a Mack homer by any means and I will agree with you but the two of them together was no good. The friendship carried the professional relationship on much too long at Texas. He has his times, but the finger needs to be pointed less at Greg Davis and more at Mack Brown.
Bama style is run first, run second, run third and pass if you have to. We have the backs to do that but Ash must keep the defense honest.Mack has made it known that he wants an Alabama style offense with a Boise St feel to it. So my question is, why does Texas continue to recruit the dual threat QB?
UTK66 you bring up a good point. Harsin is relatively new but we need to see progress with David Ash and the offense this year. Harsin had Zabransky for 2 years at Boise before working with Moore in 2008. Texas recruits better than Boise State. We need to visibly see improvement on the field this year. One thing that has confused me some is that Harsin claims to favor an athletic QB and can pull the ball now and make yards when needed. That doesn't describe Kellen Moore at all.
Harsin has made it clear that a dual threat QB could be integrated into his offense. I depends on the individual.....for instance, Ash can have some nice scrambles now and again but his running will never be a focal point of the game plan. BUT when Harsin sees film of someone like Swoopes, his mind starts dancing with visions of misdirection coming from fake hand-offs and Tyrone running the opposite way for a 60 yard TD against OU.One thing that has confused me some is that Harsin claims to favor an athletic QB and can pull the ball now and make yards when needed. That doesn't describe Kellen Moore at all.
