Royal Ivey has no college experience. Nothing at all against him personally but we don’t know a feel good story......we need a home run and we need to win. Ivey might could do that but I’d like to see them go with someone that has done it at the college level.

agree. I'd like to see his style of coaching scheme at the college level first.  I so dislike the NBA game (and dont watch it any longer) that I dont want Texas to try and become a NBA style team, which some will argue that was Shaka's fascination.  College is not the NBA and the NBA is not CBB.  Players are treated differently and recruiting is at least 30% of the job.  

If the worst that can be said about Chris Beard is that he is a Bob Knight disciple, then I will take that every day over something unproven. Screw the iso and run & gun excitement; give me fundamental basketball.  If he builds a solid program that wins, recruiting will take care of itself - Austin is not Lubbock
