Here's the video of the end of the Miss State vs Tulsa bowl game in Ft Worth today. It is disgusting, IMO. Even when it's over, Miss State doesn't go to their side of the field, or go to their locker room (game was over). They followed Tulsa off the field trying to instigate more. Their coaches just followed with them.

You're the decision maker for the NCAA here. What do you do?

Suspend every underclassman who participated in the brawl from both teams for at least the first game in 2021, maybe more.

Likewise for coaches who weren't involved to break up the fight responsibly.

Why should a football field be any different than a city street?   Look at all the rioting BS that was allowed to go on while the police were told to stand down and just watch.  Nothing wrong solving a perceived wrong with violence.

in these cases the refs throw a black flag, each coach gets to choose one player from the other’s team to finish this off in a fight to the death at the 50 yd line.

#7 of Tulsa and #3, 4 & 13 of Miss St should never play another down in the NCAA.
Agree. I thought there might be more than that.

I also think the coaches bare some responsibility here.

Leach will have none of that. Interviews after the game had him denying his team really did anything wrong.

I have a heavy hand in things like this. I think punishment is not only punishment, but also a deterrent.

I suspend the players named listed by Baron, above, and any others I think were involved for the first game next year.

I suspend both head coaches for the first game next year.

Law enforcement may have a say in this, too.

To add to your comments, there is one scene where MANY Mississippi State players piled on one Tulsa player. It appeared they were beating the crap out of him.  Everyone one them should be suspended. I'm sure there are other incidents where punishment is due but that is chicken sh*t and cowardly. This is not in any way defending any of Tulsa's offenders.

It is that scene mentioned above that comes to mind when I think of the SEC. Yes, I admit that is a generalization, but that is the image I have when I think of SEC with its history. The way SEC schedules bowl games, schedules November games to promote poll rankings, obvious cheating, men waving pom-poms, make excuses when SEC team loses in bowl games, rest of the league rides Alabama's coattails(edit: Nick Saban's success) and promoters like Paul Finebaum is the reason I hope The University never joins the SEC.

PS - I have never understood men who pride themselves on hunting, fishing and NASCAR wave pom-poms, proud to have part of stadium called Hog Pen, dress up like toy soldiers and practice yelling. ?? i could mention more but I have vented enough. LOL

I can't imagine The University's leadership nor BMD's taking their marching orders from Birmingham and Deep South good ol' boys. Our academic leadership is more inclined to fraternize with Cal-Berkeley and the left coast Pac-12. SEC is not gonna happen. Don't sweat it.

Better to be the big fish in a smaller pond.
