Cowherd just went off on Texas 'insiders' and had Herbstreit on in the NS/UT segment.

My question to Cowherd: If the Texas insiders are so insignifant that you point out they only have 9 followers, why do a segment on your national show?

Looks like hornsports has again left a mark and forced another insecure diva to show their true colors.

The same Cowherd who said, 'Chip is so money...'?

You would think with alot of football to played, bowl games and the NFL, Colin could find something else to talk about?

this is just an absurd claim...there are thousands of total followers of insiders just based upon the subscriptions alone

Agreed. With that said, the question remains: Is he so thin skinned that little ol' McPhaul et al, who he represents as followerless 'insiders', should be reprimanded on his national show?

I would wear his scorn as a badge of honor.

After he scolded the 'insiders', he constructed his own baseless scenario (without sourcing) to explain the Saban to Texas rumors.

Cowherd likes to throw grenades. No backing, no research, just a bombastic approach to generate talk for his show. So many sports journalists laugh at this buffoon but realize that that's his shtick. The 20-something's love him but his favorite phrase, "...I'm just sayin'!..." is getting a little tiresome.

Hook'em!

Hornrush is absolutely correct. I remember Cowherd going off on Vince Young for sitting out of practice due to an injury, saying he had no leadership, no heart, yada, yada, yada. Anyway, Cowherd had the story completely wrong. It was Selvin Young sitting out of a practice. Idiot.

Ummmm, what part of what he said was inaccurate? With all due respect, all the sites got this deal wrong. I personally don't care, I don't read these things for concrete info but Colin had a point.

So true, according to every fan base that has a coach that Texas could poach, Texas is now irrelevant.

What did you miss about Cowherd saying that the insiders had so few followers? Obviously a stupid statement.

I think he was referencing Jesus, who just got a twitter account and has few followers. He said 9 but he was obviously using hyperbole. Colin doesn't like what he considers "the media" but he will defend them over internet insiders. He was making a point of how poorly last week was handled, from the media, UT admins and even "insiders". I don't think anyone would argue that.

Maybe he shouldn't have participated in all the hype then.

He talks about whatever the most people want to listen to. Apparently the Texas coaching search story is popular nation wide.

My post was unclear. What bothered me about his statements was that he called out 'insiderS' (plural) for their unsubstantiated reporting then followed it up with a hypothetical theory with zero sourcing.

Not only does he contradict himself but he also does the exact same thing that UT fans have become so tired of, listening to self important people tell us what to believe.
