What is wrong with Horns football?

Damn that Matthew McConaughey. Someone tell him to stay in the classroom. The football field is no place for his activism.
If true, this is no laughing matter.  When people become more concerned with their “rights” rather than their “responsibilities”; then society suffers.   A football team is no different.

Not excusing last night's coaching performance but it does appear to me that the cupboard is not as well stocked as some of the rankings of recent recruiting classes would suggest. Worthy may be the most skilled WR, Bijan is certainly a stud, and Card maybe but how many on offense would be lock starters for other perennial powers. How many of our defensive 2 deep would be starters as they are performing now? There is talent but too many highly rated recruits in the past 10 years have either not been developed or were too highly rated to begin with.IMO.
Safety and a walk on at LB.  that says a lot

okafor in his 6th year.  Still can’t sustain a block

Unrealistic expectations from a rabid fan base...the culture on and off the football field along with that of the fan base on social media make for a volatile combination of different agendas. Is Sark the answer, that remains to be seen, will the fan base and administration allow him the time to change the on the field culture, who knows for sure

OU does not seem to ever have these problems. They just keep winning. I  can barely remember OU getting embarrassed. Horns seem to get embarrassed  regularly. Horns are making a mistake leaving the B12. Going from barely competing in the B12 to being that way in the sec isn't much to look forward to.

Last time OU got embaressed Arkie in a bowl game. Pigs lost starting tailback just before game Sub. a DT and ran the sooners out of the stadium.

They got their butts kicked in a hostile environment.  I’m interested to see how they bounce back next game and how they handle an angry road crowd next time.

It may be a bit early to think the sky is falling…
UT and OU are gonna face hostile crowds everywhere we go in the Big 12. They're gonna be more amped up than ever now that we're leaving. Most would love to give us an L as a farewell present.

One of the biggest problems lately is the O-line. We’re not pulling the recruits we once did. There’s some talent at the skill positions, but we need the big uglies up front to win those tough games.
A stat from an ESPN article this morning:

Since 2008, Texas has had three offensive linemen selected in the NFL draft, none in the first round. During that span, Alabama had 19 offensive linemen drafted, including eight first-rounders. Even worse, Vanderbilt had six such players drafted since 2008, including one first-rounder.

Wow

That's an eye-opening fact. IMO, it's not our skill position groups who lack size, talent, and depth. It's the linemen on both offense and defense. TXHSFB's basketball on grass isn't developing enough top-flight talent. We need to cast a wider net.

The future NFL guys don't want to be here, they can read the same draft stats. They go where they have a shot at getting paid to play on Sunday. After a few years in the SEC that will change, until then...
