What is Mack Brown's role going forward?

I think the best thing Mack could do for the Texas program would be to move to North Carolina and never be heard from again.

Mack will be the first one to start clapping once the new coach is announced.

Hopefully nothing more than a fundraiser.

The new HC needs to insist he have zero influence.

Mack will have no official capacity when he is "reassigned" within the athletic dept, if he wants to keep receiving the checks he will keep his mouth shut, appear at university fund raisers and go play golf...He is no longer the face of the football program and it will be up to AD Patterson to make sure it stays that way

Kinda funny how everyone was ready to throw Patterson under the bus on Friday evening, but Mack didnt make it to the ten o'clock news before he retired, Maybe Patterson is living up to his reputation as a"house cleaner"...and Friday's actions at the banquet were just the dog and pony show

He will have a ceremonial position as in the presidents office which prob will consist of shaking hands, attending functions and fundraising from what it sounds

I think he does TV as well

I know people are worried but let's be real - after what went down on Friday and the level of anger from the BMD side who got played by powers he's not going to be allowed "run" the football program. That's ridiculous

DKR had a ceremonial position when he retired as well

I agree he shouldn't be meddling with the new HC and his football program, but Mack can add value as a fundraiser, schmoozer, closer on recruits, and LHN studio analyst. Give the man his due. He can still be a valued asset to The University. \m/

If he visited Briles on UT's behalf does that mean he is the de facto gm?
When Powers retires the last guy to have MB back will be gone. My friends y'all have a reagt weekend

He needs to open Mack Brown's Texas Steakhouse somewhere around the party district in Austin. Work a deal with the school for a rotating display of all the UT athletic trophies and have someone build the best wine list in the state of Texas. Between the lobbyists, the fanbase and the curious, he would make ungodly amounts of money.

Funny you say that. Max Olsen didn't give VY's Steakhouse a favorable review after dining there last night.
