Just curious since you brought it up, . . . what indication (overall or otherwise) do you have that any coach is considering Texas at this point?

I believe that all the other names have interest in Texas or are looking for a raise because their name is associated with Texas. Saban would be my choice hands down but since the rescent debacle I think it turned him off. But.... I do believe his wife wants out of Bama and Austin would be a perfect fit for her lifestyle. And usually what mama wants moma gets. Plus I dont understand why Kirby hasnt left after Saban extension... im curious because only a handful of you still believe Saban is our man.

I have absolutely no knowledge of his dealings with Smart to FSU or Fisher to Bama - so there's the IF. I do know that he's exploring this.

I have been given no reason to waver on Saban to Texas.

McPhaul might be able to elaborate on this.

Yea, understand. When you hear this stuff about Fisher contacting possible assistants, it's not necessarily about the Texas job.

Fisher's probably the happiest guy in the world right now. About to play for all the marbles. Has two awesome job openings that he's got a good shot at and probably ends up with one of the two.

I don't know much about the FSU situation, but I'm led to believe there's some reasons for wanting out of that place.

the thing on my end, is m. patton told me his HC was contacted to move with fisher to UT specifically...he wouldn't be an actual assistant on the staff, but a recruiting coordinator of sorts...again, it was specifically for the UT job..

I can see that. Patterson has had serious talks with Jimbo from what I understand. Jimbo was very receptive, excited actually. I was told he's choice 1b should 1a fall apart at the end for some reason. When he was first contacted, things weren't as far along with Saban as they ended up being.

IMO, if we don't have some sort of announcement by Saban/UT by end of the week, then Fisher is probably going to be the guy. But again, I've been given no reason at all to think the Saban thing won't happen. No backtracking that I'm aware of.

All I need is a new football coach that will get our program back to greatness. Hell I don't even have to like him as along as he is a winner.

Oh I am looking forward to April when Deb and I will hit the road. No Alaska but a trip to Maine then along the northern Amercian border to the west coast then take highway 1 down the west coast and back to Texas. My friends y'all have a great weekend.
