You guys be happy with Fisher, Briles or Strong after waiting on Saban for all this time?

I look at it like at kid at Christmas morning. The excitement is so great you have a hard time sleeping the night before and by the time you finish opening the presents you have completely forgotten about the one present you didn't get (Saben). Would be very happy with Fisher or Strong, not so much with Briles.

Fisher because he is a lot younger and would probably be a UT longer.....or Saban ....I don't for some reason think Harbough woild be a main stay at UT for a long period of time like Fisher...He is a great coach but I have more faith in Fisher.

Saban would be the clear 1st choice for most here. But I don't consider Fisher, Briles and Strong the next best alternatives.

I'd offer Urban Meyer, Steve Spurrier, Bob Stoops etc the opportunity to say NO before moving on to others with short coaching records.

I can live with are with out Saban. I want a coach who will teach our players how to play fundamental sound football. I don't want to see OU beat our players up and OSU and Baylor out coach out team and laugh on the sideline while they are doing it. We are Texas no one should ever laugh at Texas but they should respect Texas.

I want a coach who will take The University Of Texas football progam to the next level. I want a coach who dose not think like MB he now thinks he is bigger that The University Of Texas. I want to make this clear no coach are person is bigger than the University Of Texas .

Last I want a coach who will clean up the muddy water and nasty taste MB has left in our mouth. MB has done a lot for Texas and we should never forget that I use to defend him but not any more. I am just one little fish in a great big ocean and I dont cout at any level with in Texas but I don't care if MB ever comes back to Austin.

Who might that coach be I don't know it might be Saban but the next Texas coach is out there I am trusting the people who really do put there money into building the greatest flag ship university in Texas. That is our BMD to find that guy and bring him and his coaching staff to Texas.

Saban (being a WV boy) I'd support him anywhere he was, including Texas... except game day, lol.

I think Fisher will be the guy in the end (no inside info, just my gut) and that's not a bad get at all.

I've often wondered how Briles would do with his offense at Texas. Might be scary... I'll be watching as always... Keep up the good work.

Just curious since you brought it up, . . . what indication (overall or otherwise) do you have that any coach is considering Texas at this point?

Even though I am a IT member and a big fan of JS I never had much hope of Saban coming. Would love to have Fisher or Briles out of the guys that have been talked about. I think Fisher would be a better fit for the job at UT because he seems like he can play the non coaching games that a UT coach has to deal with. One name that has not been talked about much is John Harbaugh. I know that he doesn't have a ton of college coaching but I think he would be a great fit at UT. There is a good chance that they lose today and miss the playoffs. Mack might have been a factor in Saban signing his extension with Bama but I don't buy any of the reasons that are being put out that would keep him from coming now. I think that he flirted with UT through Sexton and at the end of the day made the best choice that a man his age could make. Texas is far from being talent depleted but they are also 2-3 years of great recruiting and developing talent before they can be on level with what he has right now at bama.

Saban has more to work with going into Texas than he had at Bama and he won the MNC in year 3.

Fisher is a WV guy as well. Born in Clarksburg.
