What has happened to Orangebloods posters?

We can talk about anything you guys want to talk about. Like Mark said, this is a Longhorn community first and sports message board second.

Trey,
Yes, we are building a community that includes having the ablity to "OT" on anything you like. I've had my first Landscape Thread here a few weeks ago and it went well. I've been assured by management here that this is the direction they want to go - a community of like-minded folks who can enjoy the benefits we all know a community like this can bring.

I like basketball and baseball, too, but let's face it - there are times when there's just not much sports related to be talked about. That's when it's good to have something else to talk about. Plus, there's always something coming up or timely that we just need to break down and analyze, like whether or not Bob Stoops' anatomy can support a fourth chin, stuff like that. ha ha

So yes, bring the OTs. But right now with bowls and coaches dancing, etc., that's why it's been dominated with football.

Sirhornsalot is absolutely right. We want to create a community where we can talk about things like adults without going personal. It's OK to disagree, not believe, etc... We just ask that our members be respectful of others. We don't have agendas or will pick favorites. Respect the next poster and all is well.

Well, actually, Sirhornsalot the banner of this blog reads "HornsSports", with a sub-banner of "Texas Sports and Recruiting News". That is somewhat of a clue as to the message of the blog and the content the ownership is trying to bring, wouldn't you think?

I would remind everyone, myself included, that if the topic is boring to you, simply move on to another thread. But, please, don't hijack the thread simply because you are bored with the topic.

That being said and as far as a discussion forum, of course all subjects can be discussed and I can't believe that any subject would be off limits. But, since this blog is dedicated to Longhorn sports, it would be natural to assume related subjects would be the primary thread topics. The logic of this cannot be denied - agreed?

I think, Sirhornsalot, where you got into trouble at IT is because you broke into a heated sports discussion with a landscaping offer - an OT presented, frankly, at the wrong time and, absolutely, the wrong subject. You were then blasted by the cabal of the usual IT jerks - which is the primary thing I dislike about IT.

Oh, and to be clear, thread topics at IT and I'm sure at OB, are almost universally hijacked by posters with their own agendas. Like this one, for instance! :)

Actually, Doc, management has encouraged me to post OT landscape threads and such. They suggested once a week, which is too often especially in the winter. So ill likely do many of them here unless told not to.

As for what happened at IT, I disagree. Heated topics were elsewhere and only the juveniles who couldn't comprehend "dont click" we're a problem.

25 people emailed me questions during that thread because they didnt want to get caught up with the juveniles. The need/want was there - but a few children wanted to ruin it for everyone.

We don't have that issue here, do we?

If it doesn't interest you, im fine with that. But know that others are.

Doc,

The great thing about this board is that there are both features for PM and Email, so threads don't get hijacked. This may be a good time for you to reach out to SHA via one of those mediums to discuss your ideas with him regarding this, since it seems your posts are directed at him. Just a thought. Merry Christmas!

Guys, we will be installing a really cool new chat and communication feature later tonight/early tomorrow. We think this addition will make communication easier and more efficient between users as a whole and individually.

Stay tuned and thanks for all the good feedback we are receiving from you guys.
