From what I hear Longview isn't looking like the Longview of old. It hurts them bad that Hasty may miss the entire season. Luckily they are still Longview and will probably make a decent playoff run.

I listened to my Lobos on the radio like I always do. I was pretty shocked. Not having Hasty hurts but damn, something else is missing. I think I heard them say one of our top defensive players was missing as well. We just don't get thumped like that very often. I'm thinking maybe they fell for the hype being given to them and believed too much in that #3 state ranking.

A suggestion for the mods.

I think one of the ways to make this site unique is to creat a high school forum.  Other sites have minions involved in recruiting, but have failed to develop significant discussions about high school football games in themselves - neatly ignoring the fact that HS football is king in Texas.

I, for one, am as interested in high school football as I am in college.  No small reason is because I have and have had grandkids involved in football.

This is an idea that may not fly, but you would have, at least, one fan.

Coach King will have them looking like a different team this week. You watch. That man can flat out coach. You might be right about reading their own headlines too much.

Doc - I love HS football but don't think the interest is strong enough to warrant it's own forum. I enjoy posting Friday night football scores but let's face it - there's not much of ANYTHING going on here on Friday nights. So I don't think we're cutting into the UT stuff too much. For several hours Friday night, I was the only one posting on that thread. I was a one-man gang. ha ha

Coach King is the real deal but I think I am going to go with John Tyler. Their defense is pretty nasty and they put a number on an always solid Plano squad that could get into the playoffs.
