You bolded "If we win".Why should we play them again? Someone please tell me how that is better for UT?
Here is the way I see it:
Cons
1. It allows aggy an opportunity to fight in the title fight again
2. It give aggy one more opportunity to be put on the national stage
3. It gives the SEC one more opportunity to be put on the national stage
4. It gives aggy a huge windfall of revenue
5. It gives aggy another opportunity for national credibility
6. If we lose, it gives aggy credance to the Texas recruits
7. If we lose, it gives the SEC even more of a pipeline to Texas recruits
8. If we lose, it diminishes a recruits desire to play for Texas
9. It could, forever, change the landscape in the state of Texas
Pros
1. If we win, some UT fans think this is a way to gain back recruiting momentum.
2. Some UT fans just liked the Thanksgiving game
Someone explain to me how this game is nothing but lose/lose for my beloved Longhorns?
We have a cadre of fine coaches in place and if we take care of business, we don't have to panic and beg for a chance to play aggy. If there is any begging to be done it should come from them. They are the ones that ran like a rabbit from us. Screw 'em!
Wonder how many HS Sophomores if asked would know what 27-25 means, my guess is NOT many. Hell, even the ones that do know probably don't give a sh1t. They know what ESPN is...Phillips 66 game of the week, not so much.
As I stated above, beating them sorta nullifies the SEC talk.
I bet if you ask our current team, I'd bet they would want to play 'em.
We should definitely take a run at them too.If you want to affect SEC talk, beat Bama or LSU.
This! So much aggie angst...I get it, but really this is prima facie evidence that we're too close to the conference realignment debacle and aggie's "victory" that was. Frankly, everything that could go wrong the last couple of years for Texas has. And 6-6 or 7-5 (with a much improved team) may be on the horizon for this year. All this proves is that even in the worst case scenario, where everything that could go wrong for Texas did and where all aggie's wildest dreams have come true...that they still are a middle of the road team... Aggie will always be...well, aggie... Let Strong do his thing. In a couple of years things very well may look completely different...I in no way want to play aggy, unless in a bowl game, for at least 18 more years (new generation of youth). The mere fact that there continue to be aggy posts shows not enough time has elapsed. In fact, some Longhorns are starting to sound like the envious ags do. If Texas had played 2 FCS schools instead of BYU and Miss we'd have been 10-2 even with our injuries and QB. We lead; we don't follow. I don't envy, care about, want to emulate or play aggy. Some posters really need to enhance their calm and quit panicking. I actually miss a&m but I do NOT miss aggys and am happier not playing them. Be patient, the earth will quit wobbling.
Sole reason?? Not so fast, Puncho Face-O! Consider the latest losses on the recruiting front more like the last straw. Some want to duke it out, others don't. But thanks for playing. We have no need or reason to play A&M again. This is a very reactionary emotional post that has no logic in it whatsoever. Your sole reason to play them again is based off of a few recruits? Child please.
Winning championships will solve everything.
...love it! hilarious...More like scared little girls than men. Has anyone done a nut check?
