Great kid, nasty streak on the field. Can never blame a kid for picking Stanford, but it sucks to keep losing quality players to them. Good luck young man!
That's what I'm saying, the only thing Stanford has on Texas is academics

It's also possible that he didn't like the instability at Texas. Texas has great academics as well; along with a great alumni base. Who knows what goes through kids minds.

This one went back and forth. Was close all the way to the end. Can't fault a kid for picking Stanford and I certainly won't knock an offensive lineman for picking to go there either.

This one didn't go Texas' way, but Walker is a great kid and shouldn't be knocked for picking to head West.

Anything can happen in the recruiting game, but I won't hold my breath waiting for a flip.

On the bright side, "there's nothing 'LITTLE' about him" won't be replacing "their dads were roomates, too!"

In all seriousness, I do not blame the kid a bit. This was going to be a tough pull for Herman. Hoping he's back in Houston here in about 3-4 years.

From IT {Nalin}:

After Little announced, his father Doug pulled me off to the side, and unsolicited said, "The new Texas coaches did a great job in their short time with Walker. Herman's going to be very successful there. That visit made the decision very difficult for Walker. They were very impressive. Coach Herman called me last night and asked what he could have done differently, and I said, 'nothing, you guys were great.'" Those words will undoubtedly ring hollow to Herman, but it's not like his pitch was way off. He simply lost to a school and staff who had been on Little for a very, very long time, and had all the pluses the Little's were looking for built in to their sell. It's Stanford - you don't have to work hard to sell academics or offensive line play.

More kool-aid, excuses, and rationalizing.
