Take it for what it is, but a friend of mine plays basketball at Gregory GYM on campus with one of the UT football players from time to time. I'm not naming this player right now.

Anyways, my friend said the player and him were talking about the team a little bit. The player said David Ash could be good but he isn't focused on football enough right now. And that Case is too into himself.

The player also said Mack is pretty much there to try to be the inspirational leader, but he really hasn't done that much coaching at practices. Not as much as the coordinators.

Once again, I got this from a friend, but it's someone I trust and I know he's friends with the player.

He seems like a humble kid but hell, his brother is a Texas legend so he must feel a little entitled.

Case is all heart and less than average talent... this team is in qb limbo right now and as Brett Weir from the Grateful Dead used to sing... "I need a miracle."

I can believe my friend. The player he talks to is a well known player.

But QB limbo for sure. Not that this should be an excuse but next season will be the first season that Garret Gilbert would not have been at UT. Amazing how Texas still doesn't have an answer at the QB position.

Dude, I believe the hell out of you undoubtedly! I would be curious to hear the team's true thoughts on the qb's. In front of the cameras they say all the right things but in private, they must be freaking...

There are tons of questions I wish I could ask the players and get an honest response, instead of something they may say for the media. Like the team chemistry and mentality. Like are they actually having fun?

Mack Brown does what he is there to do...recruiit and hire coaches that give his team a chance to win. He has always been a inspirational guy his team plays 16 freshman he setting up success for the future.

Ash is a decent QB, but he doesn't have the mouth or moxie of VY or Colt. Case just doesn't have the physical tools to do the job.

Mack is an inspirational good ole boy, yes. The 16 freshmen he played had a lot to do with injuries also and frankly lack of upper classmen that couldn't cut the mustard. Conveniently he has made sure to mention the 16 freshmen that played this year in every presser in the last 4 weeks. Excuse? Maybe....

UT player say Case too into himself, Ash not focused enough..Using my Google translator.."They both suck."
