The Longhorns have landed a commitment from RHP Jared Kelly.

He is a 2020 RHP that had been committed to TCU.  Top 10 prospect in the country and rated by many as #1 in Texas.

He may not make it to campus (draft) but this is a HUGE coup for the UT baseball staff to pull this off.

Jared is one of those young men, that when he says that he wants to come to visit the campus, you make sure that everything is in order.

He has been Committed to Schloss and company since he was a Freshman in High School, what happened between him and TCU, no idea, but David Pierce and company knew that this was a big opportunity.

This is great news. What are the chances he ends up in Austin as opposed to MLB?

Pierce seems to be killing it on the recruiting trail. #1 prospect in state, bravo!

If he progresses as expected he will never make it to campus.

Unless his family owns a few oil wells.

Zero chance Austin.. 100% he will make millions very soon.

At this point we don’t know. Nonetheless, even if he doesn’t make it to The 40, this sends a serious message to the baseball world that Texas isn’t messing around.

I would say getting back the college world series and actually winning a few games there would send a better message.

Where do you acquire such genius predictive traits? ;)
