Uh oh on herman

If Herman's staying at tOSU and is a twitter buddy with Heard, we should be very concerned, I think.

beingreal stating that no offer was ever extended to Herman.

I kept reading reports saying that so and so would be interested IF offered. Maybe it's been Watson this whole time. I just don't understand the time frame. What's been holding any of this up if there was never any question about who it would be? Makes no sense.

Louisville was 23-3 in the past two years with Watson as the Offensive Coordinator. People forget too that Louisville was a dumpster fire when Strong and Watson took over. People act like Watson is a horrible hire. He might not be a big name, but he went 23-3 at a program that has recruiting disadvantages and was a complete mess when he took over. He also helped develop Bridgewater. The overreaction is just that an overreaction.
Go look at the lackluster numbers Watson put up at OC. He barely broke 20 points against some pretty weak opponents this year. UL defense is where the real success was.

There is still a shortlist with good names.... Decision still not made per beingreal. Not going to overreact till fat lady sings.

And a lot of people from Louisville will tell you that the lack of points is a byproduct of Strong's system (I.e. they like to play slow paced and are conservative). Just because a team doesn't score a bunch of points doesn't mean they aren't a good offensive team......simply means that's the style they play because it gives them the best chance at winning. Winning is winning. If we have to win by scoring in low figures, I'm all good. I've never understood the infatuation nowadays with high scoring offenses. Ball possession and eating clock has been a formula for success for decades.

I think everything that has gone on recently demonstrates that the old insiders are no longer insiders.

Most likely Louisville buyout related. Once Louisville announces their new coordinators/coaches they could announce Bedford, Watson etc so that they don't have to pay the buy out.

History repeating itself with Patterson. A charade to create the impression that big names have been considered only to settle for a fourth tier hire at OC. A great OC hire was needed to elevate the Strong hire and create excitement. Watson will do nothing to excite potential offense recruits and will likely have the opposite effect. Oh boy!!! UT hired the Louisville coaching staff!!! AWESOME FANTASTIC BRILLIANT HIRE!!!! So much for CS being a big time hire. Amateurs are running UT athletics.
Are you even a UT fan as your entire posting history here is nothing but how bad everything sucks and how everyone is a joke. Just curious.

Fake search? So now even Charlie strong was lying when in multiple interviews he flat stated he was looking at multiple people for the position and wanted Texas high school ties

Patterson is cutting you off slowly but surely.... IMO

thats not good news. i hope Strong as a couple other OCs he is looking at, not named Watson.
Let me ask y'all something how much of this can be blamed on the stink that MB raised before he left? There was a big money increase to whom ever comes. My friends y'all have a great week.

Are you a real UT fan or just a weather vane????? You seem to be very comfortable with the perpetuation of mediocrity at UT rather advocating professional leadership that is making the best choices to return UT to consistent championship performance. All your posting here is blindly in support of whatever Mack or Patterson or CS do regardless of whether their judgments are the optimum choices available and whether they followed a professional process to reach those judgments. You are a poster boy for everything that is wrong with the culture at UT. Just look the other way and go along with whatever Bellmont does no matter how feckless it may be. Just curious, is there ANY choice Patterson or CS would make that you would object to???

They are insiders in their own heads..you have to take everything w a grain of salt..the over reaction to everything on these boards are crazy..

Getting sick of this.

Texas is showing to be all hat no cattle. Top job my @ss. In this entire damn search when have they shown that?

If it turns out the way it looks Texas hasn't lured anyone that says we can get the best.

Objections can be made to the coaches moves, but hissy fits (not saying your in that crew) are pointless and a waste. Patterson and Strong are more skilled at their jobs than your are skilled that their job. Would you tell your doctor how to do his job? But because people feel they have an understanding of sports, they marginalize the skill involved w selecting a staff. It isn't as easy as I am going to go out and spend all this money and get a group of coaches that don't work well together for the sake of appeasing the fans..

Isn't this one of the primary roles of sports message boards?

To serve as a place to put your hissy fit into words? And then share it with a larger audience.

Mack and deloss are gone. We have a new head coach who has yet to even out a team on the field. Many of us are willing to give the guy and his staff a full chance and let the results speak for themselves. I think strong was a very good hire and so do many others. Especially nationally people have have it high marks.

You are already trashing everything including the hire. That seems premature but to each his own. There is nothing UT related you seem to like at all
