Two 2014 DT Prospects Decommit: More Coming?

Is my work computer server acting up or is anyone else having a hard time viewing this?

There are 3 DT decommits which makes no sense at all to me. They were willing to play for an average to bad defense but are not willing to play for a much improved defense? Makes little sense.

At the time the article was written, there were two. The story was updated, but the link will remain the same.....

Here is my take on the decommit situation...

We just hired a new coach. It appears that mostly everyone is on board with this new coach. I personally wouldn't be too upset if every one of our commits de-committed (except for Heard). The more players that Strong can recruit and fit into his style of play, the faster we move on down the road to being where we all want to be...

Clearly this doesn't work if Strong isn't the right guy. I think he is the right guy and therefore decommits don't bother me at all right now. Heard would bother me, but no one else.

Just my opinion.

you got to realize for 4 months what other coaches have been telling them and especially since Bu game. Even now with Reds comments, other coaches dont let that go.

If you want to go after a Texas commit, the past 3 weeks have been the best time to get into their ear.

We have ties to Texas and have burnt orange glasses. Put yourself in a neutral position and imagine you are 17 and being recruited by other schools. There is not question you look around, not necessarily de-commit and go but you look and to be fair they should look.

Take academics out and consider this on a football only basis. If you want to play and be developed and win, picking Texas has not been smart past couple of years.

Contractor,

What you just said would make a lot more sense before Strong was hired. It makes a lot less sense now. Texas hasn't developed a whole lot of talent at all in the last few years.
