The Texas Longhorns (21-7 (10-5 Big 12)) went on the road to play the Oklahoma Sooners. The Sooners were seeking their first sweep of the Texas Longhorns since 2005. The Longhorns started out the game well but turnovers and the Sooners's 3-point shooting doom the Longhorns as the Sooners win 77-65
The Texas Longhorns are now 22-7 (10-6 Big 12)
Turning Point of the Game:
The Sooners were able to jump on the Longhorns in the first half but it wasn't until the score was 37-31 Sooners when Oklahoma went on a 17-8 run to go up by 15 and the Sooners kept the Longhorns at bay for the rest of the game.
Player of the game
Cameron Ridley
Another double-double for the big man from Houston. He was a dominate force in the paint for the Horns.
Key Stat of the Game
Texas Guards: 1 FG made, 9 turnovers. That was a big difference in this game. The guard play was abysmal in this game.
Epilogue
It was another bad road game. The Longhorns have one more true road game and that is against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. So in terms more potential bad losses, Texas Tech is it. The Longhorns have lost to OU, Kansas, Iowa State, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State on the road. So the best road record the Longhorns can have during the Big 12 season is 4-5. The Longhorns will have their final home game on Wednesday against TCU and then at Texas Tech with Kansas City the next weekend. There is a potential that the Longhorns can finish 2nd in the conference but they could also finish 5th or 6th. The Longhorns need to win both games next week to get that 2 seed in the Big 12 tournament. Finishing 2nd in the Big 12 can go a long way to getting a better draw in the NCAA tournament.
It's March Madness, let's just hope the Longhorns are on the good side with the college basketball gods.
