TOS: Ed O

There's smoke now... This makes sense if its Saban or Harbaugh. Ed O worked with Kiffin who was recently working with Saban or he'd be Harbaugh's recruiting coordinator? As long as its not Briles im happy.

That means that some future coach is having us vet his staffing candidates. Lining the them up so to speak. So they can hit the ground running when the new coach comes on.
SUFFICIENCY!
I hope so. Tomorrow can not come soon enough.

Any chance you can contact any of your sources to check if this rumor is true?

So, if this is what is happening, one has to think it is Saban, Fisher or a curveball candidate like John Harbaugh.

I would love to have Orgeron on board at UT. He would kill it here, not just recruiting, but the dude has done an amazing job saving USC's season after their coaching fiasco.

What you need to know about Ed O is really simple. He's a very fundamentally sound football coach that recruits out of this world. He's also the type of coach that players will jump out of plane without a parachute for.

The rumor is not confirmed but he wouldn't be getting a HC look. If it is indeed true that he's in Austin, then you have to think Saban, Fisher, or Harbaugh. It's highly unlikely that Fisher has even been contacted yet because Texas has been sensitive to his schedule. So it would lead me more towards Saban and Harbaugh. I'm going to try and do some digging this afternoon but i'm jammed up with work right now. Got some emails out, we'll see who respods.

Seems like if true it mean it might be Strong as HC seeing as how he's been rumored to have been interviewed and even been making contact with current staff.

I hope not.

Lets get going on this work at hand.....finish it all up this weekend. Then announce Monday Noon, for one heck of talking points for the MNC Gameday and halftime.

If this is true, you can say goodbye to Strong because I think he would've been already announced by this time if we are bringing in assistant coaches to interview.

In 2011, he was named the Scout.com/FOXSports.com National Recruiter of the Year, ESPNU/ESPN The Magazine named him the top recruiter in college football (and third best in all of collegiate athletics) and Rivals.com ranked him as the second-best recruiter of the previous 10 years (2002-11). USC in 2011 improved from the previous year in rushing, total and scoring defense, with the rushing defense (111.4) and sack averages ranking in the national Top 20. USC held 8 of its 12 opponents to 17 points or less. Defensive end Nick Perry, who tied for 10th nationally in sacks (tops in the Pac-12), was a 2011 All-Pac-12 first teamer and a finalist for the Hendrick Award before being an NFL first round selection.
He coached All-American first team defensive linemen Kenechi Udeze (2003), Shaun Cody (2004) and Mike Patterson (2004), all future NFLers. The Trojans led the nation in rushing defense in 2003 behind the highly-regarded "Wild Bunch II" defensive line and were second in 2004. USC won the 2003 and 2004 national championship and played in 5 bowls games when he was on the staff: 1998 Sun Bowl, 2001 Las Vegas Bowl, 2003 Orange Bowl, 2004 Rose Bowl and 2005 Orange Bowl (BCS Championship Game).

......he was the defensive line coach at Miami for 4 seasons (1989-92), where he coached 8 All-Americans, including NFL first rounders Cortez Kennedy, Russell Maryland and Warren Sapp. In 1988, he was a graduate assistant at Miami, working with the defensive line. During his tenure, the Hurricanes won the national championship twice (1989 and 1991), finished second in the AP poll once (1988) and third twice (1990 and 1992) while appearing in 5 New Year's Day bowls (1989 Orange, 1990 Sugar, 1991 Cotton, 1992 Orange, 1993 Sugar)
