When the dust settled, only one new offer was extended over the weekend at Texas' recruiting event that has been dubbed the #TexasHeatWave.
Four star Schertz Clemens WR Tommy Bush has notched offers from programs all over country dating back to earlier this spring when he blew up the The Opening Regional down in Houston. Despite that, Texas was very diligent and methodical in their evaluating Bush and he had to be patient.
Well his patience finally paid off yesterday, and I was able to grab a few quotes and gauge his reaction.
How was the visit overall and what was the atmosphere like?
" The visit was great me and my parents. We sat down with Coach Herman and just getting to know what he was thinking about my game. He gave me some personal information about himself. The atmosphere was very good and players were very informative about practice and class schedules even kind of informing on the coaches and why they loved UT. "
What does a Texas offer mean for you?
"A Texas offer is huge. Just from the 3 years I have lived in Texas its truly a blessing from God to be given an opportunity to get an education and ball in that stadium. "
Where does Texas stand now that an offer is on the table?
"We as a family are just now going through the process of meeting these staffs face to face and seeing who really is going to place me in the best place for what I'm trying to do athletically and educationally."
Do you have any plans of getting back down to Texas for future visits?
"Yes we will definitely be back. Possibly for Friday Night Lights and hopefully some games to see what Coach Herman puts on the field this year."
