Join us here if you won't be watching at 5:00 p.m. CT. LHN will be broadcasting live. If you want specifics in regards to staff updates and what not, go check out our official update thread, led by Mike. I will say this - Tom Herman knows what he is doing. There is no doubt about that. I know many of you are underwhelmed thus far about him bringing many of his UH staff with him. One thing to know is that many of these coaches have experience at Texas, and most importantly know how to coach. Herman knows that magnitude of this job. Trust him. He has a plan and is ready to execute it. Let's get this started. The next few weeks are set up to be one hell of a ride!

Mack Brown, DeLoss Dodds and Edith Royal are just a few notable names in attendance today.

Watching the LHN on Spectrum (used to be TW) channel 383 here in the Austin area.

Wonder if Coach Herman can use Karen Aston on his staff, she's killing it in recruiting!

Emmanuel Acho very vocal on what Herman needs to do first. "Gain their trust. Barking out order + a lack of trust = rebellion."

Acho: "I'm telling you. These players are going to be very turned off by [the new coaches] at first. The hires need to happen quickly so that this staff can familiarize itself with the players."

Greg Fenves is introducing Herman now. "For many, Texas athletics is the front door to our University."

Fenves: "I have an obligation to the University and our fans to identify and evaluate potential candidates. We knew we would have to be ready to act if needed. It became clear to me that Tom Herman would be our target. [We] made our decision about coach Strong on Friday evening, but decided not to inform him that night. Late Friday night, Mike and I met with coach Herman for several hours."

Mike Perrin is now outlining coach Herman's career. He mentions stints at Sam Houston State, Rice, Iowa State and Ohio State.

Herman: "Before I begin I would be remiss if I did not express my genuine love for The University of Houston. Houston will always have a special place for me and my family. But now we are home."

Herman: "We will win championships, build men of character and graduate our players. As we do this, this is not about one coach. This is about honoring all of those that have worn the burnt orange and white."

Herman: "I want all former players to know that the door is open. You are always welcome. I want the HS coaches of the great state of Texas to know that this is their football program. This is the flagship University of Texas."

Herman is beginning to tear up. You can see how passionate he is about this job. That's a great sign.
