1-Time for the kid to retire from football. What is that, 3 concussions in 3 games? I hope someone tells Ash his future health is more important then a few football games.

2-It's best Texas moves on. It's not beneficial to keep rotating QBs. It's time Texas rolls with Swoopes/Heard, and gets them some experience.

3-I expect our offense to run a lot of zone reads and two tight end looks now. What Texas now has is a running option at QB. IMO Texas is going to stack the line and utilize the run game. I actually think this is the best option also because our tight ends are some of our best blockers. Look for a lot of two receiver sets with Texas stacking the line and running zone reads with a dual threat QB. The good news is Watson's gameplans are conservative to begin with so that should be beneficial for two young QBs.

4-The other positive is there shouldn't be problems with QB/center exchanges. Raulerson and Swoopes worked together on the second team.

5-The formula still hasn't changed. Swoopes/Heard need to be game managers and let the defense win us games.

6-Swoopes looked much better towards the end of the Spring game when he was outside the pocket. Think Texas is going to be utilizing his legs quite a bit.

Like Strong said, Swoopes will need to make plays with his arm to beat BYU. Ash was no Joe Montana, but with him gone the defenses have a relatively solid game plan : stack the box.

I agree that Swoopes will need to make plays with his arm but there are ways to manufacture plays without relying on a big time arm. I think you will see a lot of what we saw towards the end of the Spring game where Swoopes was successful. Get Swoopes outside the pocket and let him hit 4-8 yard passes, with the option of using his legs if it isn't there.

To be honest, I want to see a similar gameplan we saw against North Texas. Maybe a few more two tight end looks and zone reads, but very simple/basic passing plays.
