This presser could end up being a circus

We await what might wind up being the most anticipated and attended non BCS presser of the bowl season. How will Mack handle the situation? Hopefully he'll handle it better than he has up to this point. A nice hint at retirement could set the wheels in motion. I'm sure he'd like to make it official Friday at the banquet. Just give us something. Anything. Your decision to fight this pending retirement would be incredibly damaging to your legacy. Please don't make this a circus!

IMO Mack has only 2 places left this week to announce, today press conf at 10am or tomorrow at Banquet. If he it hasnt happened at that point, it aint happening.

I think you'll be surprised how the media will go along with Mack when he says he is just there to talk about the game.

I don't think the presser will be any big deal. Talk about the game, the team, its all about the kids etc etc. Wouldn't surprise me if every media member isn't handed a list of subjects that are off limits to ask. Ask them and you'll be removed from the press conference and have your credentials pulled.

i agree if this isnt out by friday evening its either not happening or mack is waiting for saban to announce at bama hes staying..

The bigger question is whether or not any of the reporters will ask the tough questions. Or whether or not Mack will even allow the reporters he thinks will ask tough questions to ask anything.

Doubt he would even think about announcing anything to detract from the bowl game and the teams. And I have no doubts that Mack is going to step away whether he does it today, tomorrow or next week, he's out. It's a done deal.

Pretty sure coaches give opening statements at these things. He will probably give say something like this "I will not be taking any questions regarding the reports around my future. I am here to talk about the Alamo Bowl. If there is something to report on my future with the program we will announce at the appropriate time," during his opening statement.

Heads up

MAJOR CHANGE in Mack Brown situation.

I will be tweeting AFTER upcoming presser.

Has nothing to do with that though.

Shocking CONFIRMED info

He may get one question about retirement but there's no way that the Alamo Bowl people are going to let this turn into other than a PC about the game and the Alamo Bowl itself. I'd bet that Mark Helfrich has let them know that he has no desire to sit quietly while Mack's peppered with questions about retirement and Nick Saban. They'll meet with the press before the PC and give them the rules and consequences.

"Powers will survive regents as UT president"

I guess this was the big news referenced above^
