These refs are atrocious

Don't get me wrong K-State is the better team, but these refs are laughable.

1-They gave Lockett a first down on the first possession when he came back to the ball. I have no clue how they gave him forward progress where they did.

2-The left and right tackle have been holding the entire game for K-State. Even the national media are making fun of the lack of hold calls on Twitter.

3-Duke had an easy interception on that drive in the 4th quarter if not for an offensive pass interference.

4-The missed spot on that 4th down Gray run. I'm not sure if he got the first down but the spot was laughable.

5-The missed pass interference call on Shipley in the first half. The DB didn't even make a play on the ball and didn't turn his head.

6-The most egregious non calls for delay of games. Twice the clock has hit zero and the refs didn't call a delay of game.

College football is corrupt. Not sure why the refs were cheating but some ideas:

1) SEC gate......A KSU win makes Auburn and the SEC look good for the first week of championship playoff rankings.

expect the same thing for WVU against OSU later since them winning helps Bama if thats the case.

2) Why they didn't cheat for Baylor against WVU could fall under #1, since they cheated for Baylor against TCU. But trying to keep KSU in the top 11 may help the Big 12 get into the playoffs in the end.

I don't know why they are cheating, but make no mistake they are cheating for a reason. You don't miss the calls that were missed unless you WANT to miss them and are told or paid to miss them.

Fellows, please correct me if I am wrong because I could very well be way off base.

There was a pass interference call on Duke, but the ball had been tipped before there was any contact.  Doesn't a tipped ball negate the rules on pi, if the pi comes after the flight of the ball is altered?

I agree with you GBT.  Refs have protected Baylor, and now KSU.  What gives?  Playoffs and payoffs, or is it just playoffs?

the playoff/payoff conspiracy argument is laughable. some ref thought so quick on his feet that in a 16-0 game he spotted gray short so auburn's win over kst would look better?

you guys need to come in from the grassy knoll.  the worst thing for them would be a bunch of small market rube-towns like the sec to make it. they WANT schools from each region to make the playoffs. think people.

oh, and college refs were blowing calls long before the layoffs.

The refs did suck today. But so did we. In a close game I would complain but not after this circle jerk.

this really is too f##king stupid to respond directly to but i did indirectly in a post that won't be edited.

this board is morphing into a lower traffic OB every day.

stp, I didn't mean to offend your delicate sensibilities.  The blown calls probably would not have changed the outcome, but my question still stands.  When a ball is tipped at the line, the db if free to go after the ball just like the wr, true or not?  If you don't know, no problem.

btw, I don't really think there is a conspiracy.  I do think the officiating has been particularly egregious this year.  The Big 12 needs to locate some competent officials, and if the replay officiating is not going to be more effective, it should be discontinued.  They should at least be able to rule on first downs and spot measurements.

Hope you have a great day!

It depends on where the ball was tipped.  If the ball was tipped by a defender in the neutral zone, it's still a "catchable forward pass" and subject to PI rules.  When the officials are in doubt, it's ruled a catchable forward pass.

Rule 2-19-4: A catchable forward pass is an untouched legal forward pass beyond the neutral zone to an eligible player who has a reasonable opportunity to catch the ball. When in question, a legal forward pass is catchable.
