A picture is worth a thousand words and the shot of old Joe Jamail below from his own book cover tells the whole story of the current situation in UT football. He has the money, the power, the relationships and the influence to do whatever he wants at UT and he could not care less what you or anyone else thinks about his actions. He always wins no matter what and he gets off on demeaning and crushing the aspirations of other people. Mack is his friend and his client and he wrote Mack's contract with UT and he wants Mack to stay so Mack will be back in 2014...

Not if BU donkey stomps us, the BOR will demand change and Powers will sacrifice Mack to keep his own job.

Jamail is not the biggest $ guy in cigar circles. Just the mouthiest.
And the most determined, aggressive, litigious and ruthless. Nobody at UT or on the BOR will cross Joe Jamail.

the group pushing change have more power and wealth as a group at this point. Jamail is defending a friend and a client but he cant just steamroll over the likes of Bob Rowling, Hicks, Moffett Etc as a group. You think Jamail wanted Deloss gone and Patterson hired? Patterson was not one of Mack's guys and thats pretty much seen as they have barely spoken by even Macks own admission.

I get you keep declaring Mack is absolutely back, but its not that easy.

If Jamail is behind this BS regarding Mack returning then he can take a hike right alongside Mack. I realize he's done amazing things for the university and I appreciate that, but he needs to realize when its time to let go and stop protecting Mack. If he can't see the past 4 years have been failures on pretty much every level possible then he doesn't need to have ANY say on what happens from this point forward.

Some are stating that these guys know Mack is on the way out and are backing him to make it appear it was his choice. I don't know what's true anymore about anything, but that would make sense to me.

AD is a side show compared to head football coach. Mack is his friend and client and Joe is a ruthless SOB. The other people you mention do not care enough about UT football to get in a fight with Joe Jamail.

I get that fantasy is much better than reality in this situation. I am just expressing an alternative opinion that is grounded in the reality of the situation. Isn't that the point of message boards?

Jamail needs to talk softly and think about his legacy at UT. If he continues to cry wolf like a child, I can see the administrators slowly erase his fingerprints on this great university as well.

Who says the reality that mack is absolutely back is the right one? Time will tell. We disagree. It happens. I have a hard time believing a group with powerful figures I mentioned along with many others who wanted a new AD and want a new head coach (currently pushing hard for SAban) will just now down and not keep pushing if saban doesn't come. Texas likely gets blown out today and most of Mack's biggest backers have been on the side of change for awhile. Even red McCombs despite his PR remarks

Jamail needs to take his head out of his ass and replace it with his money. It would have been nice to have a bloodless coup, but oh well. Go bears. Burn this shit down.

I feel everytime JJ doesnt get his way he does 2 things. 1)threaten to take away the $150million he is scheduled to give UT upon his death 2)threaten to sue

Joe cant see the past 4 years, he only sees his blind loyalty to Mack the way Mack was with GD.

He's got almost $2 billion dollars. His "legacy" was bought and paid for a long, long time ago.
