So here's what the rumormill has shakin' now. Saban to Texas for 10 million a year plus an additional 2 mil per year for dealing with the Longhorn Network. The conditions are Mack would have to be out of the picture completely and Saban would have to have full control of the program. Evidently talks with Saban's agent have already occurred. Share your info, insights and thoughts here.

BTW - my wife's a Bama grad and she spit in my face when I informed her of the rumor.

I want it.

I want saban here just as much as the next guy... Seeing it actually happen, i doubt it. Saban would look good in burnt orange.. Matches his hair color.

12 million a year... For that money we better be in the NC game every year
Nick Saban is good, but not that good.

I'd say offer Steve Spurrier 5-6 million a year plus benefits and bonuses to jump ship. Spurrier can beat highly ranked teams with mediocre players, like the ones Texas has right now.

I'd support it if Texas can take 20 millions back from Mack Brown and 50 millions back from DeLOSS dudd to help foot the Saban bill.

Frankly, I think 12 million is way too high and I don't see why Saban would come to Texas. Alabama is a bigger name in football than Texas, and Saban is already making good money.

7.6 million to make him the highest paid coach at any level of football. 5 to be paid by the U, 2 from LHN, and .6 by the BMDs

10 million bonus for any National Title

I still don't see Saban coming to Texas. Also don't see us paying 10-12 million a year for a coach, regardless of who it is.

We're Texas dude.

Agreed.. I could see maybe 7 to 8 a year incentive laden. I dont see Saban ever leaving Bama... He might use us for leverage for money, but thats about it.

Why the hell not? Bring him here. We are The University of By-God Texas!!! We belong in the National title game every freaking year!! If he can take Bama there, and win, 3 out of the last four years with the talent at Bama, why couldn't he do it with the talent here in the state of Texas?

No one can argue with that

10-12 million is nothing for this Athletic Department. We invented the dollar. Time to show some muscle.

I was 7-8 and asked Santa for a red bicycle. I woke up Christmas morning and was met with two realities. One there was no red bike, and two there was no Santa Claus.

Time to wake up Dude..There is no Saban to Texas and no Santa.

That's because you were naughty and got a lump of coal in your stocking.

I believe there is a chance. I think there 10-12 million reasons why he might come here.

Truth, or BS?

He also said he wasn't going too Alabama. He signed about 3 months later at Alabama.

With that said, I still think it's doubtful that he comes too Texas.

If Bama doesn't win another championship this year I'd say our odds of securing his services skyrocket.
