SignUp Now!I'm currently eating french fries. Today is my Fat Tuesday. Will be better tomorrow and the next 40 days, although I'm not Catholic. You can't eat Ramen...ever.
Can I call you Java, The Wise? You are truly an inspiration to me in all aspects of life. You totally rock!SFLG,
Have you ever looked at 'The Zone'? I don't consider it a diet but a way to eat. People either love it or hate it, but it works for me, particularly when working out hard. I do need to be cautious to keep good carbs up just a bit when working out really hard, 1.5 to 2 hours per day, including lifting each day (different muscle group) and running/walking 3 miles/day - 3 days on and 1 day off, or I get a little weak when I lift heavy (good carbs).
I have never worried about bulking up because I don't think a woman can, unless they are taking banned substances. As heavy as I once lifted, I wore a size 4, had approximately 14% body fat, and everything shifted to the right place. I really, really need to get back to that regimen - been working too much and working out too little for far too long.
Thank you all for the motivation.
Wow! You are Mighty Mouse! I am currently maxing out at 80lbs on bench press and 95 on squats (bad knees), but squats does help build quad/hamstring muscle which are linked to the knees.Prior to tearing the first rotator cuff, I was benching about 145, which was about 25 pounds over my body weight. Squats were my favorite, and I could load it up, but my knees are good, so I don't rec'd that for anyone with bad knees.
Thanks for this! I eat well during the week and on weekends it's a lost cause. Now that I'm officially back in Texas, there are drive thrus and fast food every where!!! Ahhhhh!!!!Sflonghornsgirl word of advise take a before and after picture and measure your body with a tape measure. Reason being is you will lose alot of fat and gain some muscle with crossfit, the scale might not budge at times but you are losing FAT. Also the most important thing I can say is that abs and weightloss starts in the kitchen not the gym. Look into the paleo diet, and just have fun working out. That is what crossfit is about.
