I hate to start piling on coaching this early but that was pretty bad

Yeah that was a big mistake. Not sure if it is on the coaches or players getting confused but a mistake non the less.

I would say its on the coaches for not having the players properly prepared for the situation

+ a team captain is supposed to have more sense than that
