But the Cotton wasn’t a NY 6 bowl then. Just a second tier bowl. Didn’t join until the 4 team playoff started in 2014. Prior to that it had the runner up from the Big 12 against whoever the SEC wanted to send.
The funniest thing is that if they were in the Big 12 the next year they would have had a good chance of going to the national championship game. But... you reap what you sow.
They are such happy losers they will argue that they don’t care they didn’t have that chance because of all the championships Alabama has won for them
