The uninformed attacking you is the biggest affirmation that you're doing something right, in my experience.  Clay would fit into this definition.

He's delusional if he thinks SECn is getting $1.30/mo. per subscriber in their media footprint.

It's funny to see all the aggys mention how UT has been irrelevant for years when they last won a title in 1939! Talk about delusional!

The idea that aggy - or most any other NCAA program - would turn down a guaranteed $300MM contract over 20 years for their own ESPN channel is laughable. Sure you would, aggy, because y'all were such great partners while members of the Big12. Go sell that BS somewhere else.

Clay Travis wants us to believe aggy's T3 rights are more valuable collectively with SECn than UT's individually with LHN. Now granted, one advantage SECn has is ESPN can broadcast a few T2 games on that channel - USCe vs A&M for example. That game was in high demand last year. U-La-Mo vs aggy? Not so much

Two overrated programs kicking off the season in Columbia. Whoop!

Clay Travis....again....attacking UT....pumping up SEC and ags.........

Color me shocked.   B)
Agree, you left out ESPN. He can say what a bad deal the LHN is for ESPN, leaving out that Texas might have gone to the Pac 12 and lose a majority of UTgames to Fox Sports. Guess who Clay Travis works for.

Outstanding point. I totally forgot about that.

IMG and DeLoss kinda had ESPN backed into a corner there. Do you wanna lose the rights to UT's biggest games, WorldWideLeader?

Careful, Juan

I hope you didn't get that from ShaggyBevo. They may send their gestapo over here to take you down without the proper footnote. Derp
Looks like it was on Twitter:

By the writing style and tone... this is 'report writing' and, as such, a poor choice for other than The New Yorker or Atlantic Monthly.

The motives for his pieces are jealousy and envy. Same as the motives for the moves out of the conference by said institutions mentioned in this piece.

If LHN made $1 a year for ESPN and UT, it would still stick in the craw for Aggies. So demonstrating an ROI argument is in itself an admission that... It still sticks in the craw.

Texas has its own network. A&M doesn't. That's all ye know, and all ye need to know.

And being in the SEC cannot make A&M something it is not, nor change it from being what it inherently is: aggie.

Travis Haney and Clay Travis cannot alter that any more than they can alter the laws of physics. But they darn sure try.

Outstanding. I use the same line, "We're Texas, you're aggie" when arguments with those maroons comes to a head.

Pretty ironic considering how pathetic the FS1 Network has been, especially when you consider it was supposed to be a serious competitor to ESPN.

FS1 is like the TV version of aggy.

This is so true on so many levels.

Despite what some on this board as well as other Longhorn boards, ESPN has not skipped on the resources available to the LHN.

Yes, content has been an issue and several plans to address that are still being "negotiated."

It's still a work in progress but look for more non athletic programming. A little more academic/community/student driven content.

Of course winning big in the three big men's sports would help create more content as well.

But ANYONE that even suggests this has not been good for UT is clueless.

Maybe We havnt exactly held up our end of the expected deal. Winning.

But we will. When we do...... scoreboard will not be all we have.

That's good news for UT and the arts, but it's programming I'd selfishly have very little interest in. Personally, I'd like to see more "Longhorn Legends" type documentaries about our former athletes and greatest teams.

Oh, well. We can't always get what we want!
