The Joe Mixon Tape....

Ok, what if she was a ninja black belt or something and . . . just kidding.

Jesus Christ give the kid a break. He made a mistake, we make mistakes and learn from them. Plus it's quite ironic how they're just releasing the video at the end of his college career
I happen to agree with you, everyone makes mistakes expecially 18 year olds and he deserves a second chance and while I don't condone hitting a woman at all I also don't think women should be going around hitting guys in the face , if she were my daughter im beating joe mixon's ass but I'm telling her she shouldn't have hit a man in the face

I agree with those that say he needed to just walk away and no I don't think she would have followed after him. What bothers me also is the incident of him getting into an argument with a campus police ( which I think was another woman not sure) and he rips up the ticket and tosses into the face of the police officer. This all reminds me of Lawrence Phillips the former running back at Nebraska who we later learned had all kinds of problem incidents that Tom Osborn and staff kept from the public.

Just another sign that "big game bob" cares about 1 thing. Winning. Many other programs including Texas AND OSU would have kicked him off campus. OSU did it to tyreek hill. Granite gf he hot was in the stomach while she was pregnant but I have no doubt most university would have handled it accordingly! Stoopes watched this tape 3 times and simply suspended him a year. Maybe I'm raised wrong but this is not a simple "mistake" this won't be the last time this coward hits a woman.

Plenty of other ways he could of diffused the situation which didn't involve punching her.
From what I've read about it, Mixon's the one who created the "situation" in the first place with his rude, boorish behavior towards her gay friend. He said something inappropriate to him which is what caused her to go off in the first place. Gangsta thug wannabe

Y'all must be sooo proud, 0-u

Whatever happened, Mixon should have been punished in a way that put the hurt on him. A redshirt year was BS and Stoops is going to pay for it now that this tape is out. Maybe just in reputation, but that can snowball.

This kid already got a huge break by avoiding jail time and continuing his football career. The girl's break was her face and jaw.

Guess my moral compass is wired different to you guys.

The "kid" isnt a kid. He is an adult. Go Google some some one punch death statistics and you will realise what 1 mistake can do.

Plenty of other ways he could of difused the situation which didn't invovle punching her.
He could have made the decision to not follow her into the restaurant to diffuse the situation.

OU will come out say they addressed all of this with Bob and the Athletic Director .  Bob will make a $25K donation to a womens shelter or fight againts such abuse and they will tell everyone that new processes have been put in place to deal with such matters going forward...but Bob will keep his job.

I can't be the only one to think that maybe we benefit two years in a row from another big 12 teams lack of moral compass.

If im the parent of a OU commit right now im surely in my sons ear

I was taught and firmly believe that only a coward hits a woman* and I knew that if I crossed that line, no matter how young/old, my dad would and still will be waiting when I got home and that things would not go well for me at all.  Joe Mixon's a coward, Bob Stoops is a coward for allowing him to play, I don't know his father or how he was raised but it looks to me like someone should've taken him out to the woodshed and taught him a little discipline and respect at the end of a switch.

*Unless life/limb were in danger
