People just need to calm down. He seems to be the kind of guy who wants to do this the right way, face to face with the AD. He's not going to tell his staff he's leaving until he talks to the AD in person. Once the AD gets back from Colorado, he will meet with him, tell him, and then it will become official.
the talking point going around I've seen posted at a few places that he has issues with being organized, has issues with processing info quickly, and issues speaking are normally code words for something else, and frankly if people are going to throw that stuff out there better be some good evidence IMO

Not sure I fully understand the OP. Why would Strong go along with the smokescreen knowing it's Saban or Fisher on Monday/Tuesday? To (self-represent and) get a raise?
I knew a guy that did that once...said he had an offer and wanted a counter-offer. Company said "bye". Good times.
