The FSU & Clemson to the Big XII rumor

Aggies everywhere are chiming in on Florida State's potential Big XII move. They have to feel like shit knowing they might be replaced by a better team in FSU.
I will second the aggy sentiments. Talked to two ag buds today and they are both poo-poo-ing the FSU move. The excuse - "FSU has sucked for a while." They are overrated they say.

2 national championships and 12 ACC titles... This man says hello too:

Suck it Aggies.

Dodds came out and said the rumors about FSU joining the Big XII have no "traction." WIll they or won't they end up in Big XII Country?

Here is my personal opinion - coming from a combination of sources and common sense.

Our eerinsider.com site originally broke the FSU?Clemson story back in January. Even then we had sources giving indication both parties were interested. I would pay no attention, either in favor or against, to comments made from "higher ups" regarding discussions.

I keep reverting back to Missouri/Texas A&M saying they weren't interested in the SEC ....

And Texas was all but headed to the PAC-Whatever last year and they ended up staying put. There is a great article on the eerinsider.com site about how these conference deals are done in the middle of the night and behind closed doors (I think Honus "The Dude" wrote it). It is fun speculating though.

I for one am glad that WVU, Texas, and the other Big 12 schools can just sit back and watch. No need to worry if we are going to have a home or not. You guys at Texas have no idea what its like to think your school wont have a decent conference home.

Todays news involving Georgia Tech throws more fuel on this, along with the rants of TCUs athletic director in Lubbock.

How do you folks feel about the Yellow Jackets?

Sean Adams @thatsean and Geoff Ketchim @gkketch had a nice discussion on this via Twitter. Personally I find Sean much more intelligent and personable, and I agree GT dont bring much to the table.

Adams is by far a better voice of reason than Ketchum. His show, The Adams Theory is better than The Drive hands down. As far as the conversation is concerned Georgia Tech brings nothing to the Big 12. If it were Georgia it would be an entirely different story. FSU is a power but the Yellowjackets are another 3rd tier school that the Big XII has too many of already.

FSU is a sure thing and Clemson will probably be the next school. We grow above 12 teams only if Notre Dame is #13, then we find another school.

Who would be #14? Obviously Louisville and GT are whoring out...
Could be either of those schools. BYU is another school you shouldn't count out, especially if the Irish were to come aboard. Very similar in a lot of ways.

This is 100% accurate. If the "plus one" model is selected, ND will join the Big12 as a full member, we go to an era of 4 16-team super conferences and college football goes bananas.

Things are becoming more and more lucid as the days progress. I promise you this.... If Notre Dame joins the Big XII then there IS a New World Order! Crank it up and enjoy the show. #BIG12

Have not heard that song in a while. I am excited about the possibility of the Noles joining but it looks like now, much more so than ever, that Notre Dame will end up in a conference. I see no other place for them to go but the Big XII. They could go Big X butwhy would they, other than geographics? They would have to move non-football sports out of the defunct Big East and the Big XII affords all of the right things in terms of revenue sharing, tv deals, etc.

Notre Dame's gonna join this mofo, don't doubt it!
