The first college playoffs

I would agree except that Baylor-KSU was a better game today than Bama-Mizzou was.

IMO, the SEC has a problem with how they've divided the conference. That East Division is light years behind the West.

I should not be able to tell you which side of the conference will win next year. Yet I can.
True, but you could do the same for the Big 12. Since '04 the south has won 10 out of 11 times.

Yep, I think TCU gets F'ed and is out the top 4. tOsu will jump to #4.
Se la vie Big 12.

The Big 12 is 2nd best league

You can't really leave its best team out, can you?

The Big10 is a crummy conference - its second best team sucks

Absolutely. And the Big 12 title game suffered because of it.

Maybe they should mix up the two divisions every three years or something.

Yes, SMU and UH are really upset as well.

SMU got it's first win since November of 2013 today. They were the only FBS team that was winless until today.

They're probably swapping slobber over on the hill right now.

How is this dated at 12 am? It's 11:52 on Dec. 6 here.

Briles: "Find 4 resumes better than ours, you're not finding one"

Caca de toro!

Take one look at that OOC, pal.

On the Mack Brown vote, Art Briles now has as many Conference Championships as Mack had for his entire career

In all fairness to Mack the Big 12 was a different animal a few years ago. OU, OSU, and Tech were all pretty salty teams.

Mack also has 3 BCS wins, a title and 2 title games. Briles has nada.

Hi, everyone.  I couldn't access the board earlier - had internet, but no hornsports.  Don't know what the problem was.  It appeared to be loading slowly, then I either saw a page of code or simply nothing.  Maybe it was an overload of traffic.

I have watched all of the games, with the exception of the Buckeyes.  imo, Alabama is impressive and balanced, and TCU is as well.  FSU is coasting on last year's performance.  They will probably get in based on that, but it will be over a more deserving team.  Oregon, I can't get a read on.  They aren't my kind of team, and I don't think they will do well in the playoffs, but I guess we shall see.

I think TCU should be in over Baylor.  They are the better team, and that is not my dislike for Briles 'talking'.  TCU is more balanced, and I think they are the tougher team.

We have a playoff committee to make decisions not to rubber stamp the preselected champions.  Hopefully, they will do their jobs.  Eventually, if we are lucky, there will be an eight team playoff and some of this noise will go away.

btw, ESPN anlaysts opinions are no more valid than ours.  I used to value Herbie's, but he has been at ESPN far too long.

Hook 'em!

I think both TCU and Baylor would beat Bama. Oregon would, too.

TCU vs Oregon would be an epic matchup, IMO.

Bama vs FSU would be like watching grass grow, in comparison. Ohio St would be beaten by any of the other 5 top 6 teams, IMO.

If they want excitement in the playoffs, they'll get one of TCU/Baylor in there.

IMO, these are the for sures

1. Alabama. Ranked #1 and won the SEC today. They're in.

2. Florida St. IMO, you can't keep an undefeated FSU out, no matter how ugly it is. All they have to do is beat Ga Tech in the second half.

3. Oregon. Impressive in their Pac 12 Championship win. See no way they're not in.

4. TCU, Ohio State, Baylor - Baylor needs to have an impressive second half. A really impressive second half. Ohio State is beating the snot out of Wisky and could leap frog both with an impressive win over a more impressive opponent than TCU played. This spot is up for grabs until the committee makes their selection.

Unfortunately, I'm thinking Ohio State sneaks in and the Big 12 goes from thinking it could get two teams in to not getting anyone in at all.
Ya gotta be impressed with Ohio State that can put a 3rd string QB in against a good Wisc team and kick their asses. When Boynkin or Petty are out, those teams are abysmal. This is going to be about respect for Urban more than anything, and they're right. I hope Charlie can get there some day!

The ESPN talk about Ohio State was applying the lube for the eventual screwing.  They will leave out both so they dont have to hear the head to head stuff.

I dont feel sorry for Briles though, karma is a bitch, beating up on cupcake teams he gets what he deserves.  Now that I had my Briles rant I will say Baylor could outscore any of those top 4.  Their offense is the best period.  Im pretty sure they outscore Bama or FSU.  Oregon might give them a race to the finish.

Watch out for TCU next year with Boykin back and most of their young team.

Pay back?

Lou Holtz is campaigning for Ohio State.

Mark May is campaigning for TCU-Baylor.

On the strength of schedule, Ohio State's is best, TCU next and Baylor last.
whos SOS are you looking at?

Sargin and another(forgot which one) had Tcu >tOsu >Bu for SOS

I am sitting at home this morning, trying to get over an upper respiratory infection.  I worked all week, but people kept asking if I had the flu - no.  It's no wonder students miss so much school.

The year we were ranked #2 all season, I worried when we were playing the weak part of our conference schedule.  I was concerned about dropping to #3, not due to losing, but due to news coverage and computer rankings.

Props to Art Briles, who I don't like.  He is on SportsCenter right now, and he is presenting their case well.  He has mentioned that we are one of the top 2 conferences.  He said head to head should be the deciding factor, but he also said that if BU and TCU were left out, it would be a travesty.  The best point he made was this:  the other conferences play 8 conference games with the conference championship as the 9th.  The Big 12 plays a 9 game round robin; therefore, the Big 12 plays the same number of conference games as every other conference.

The only weakness for Baylor is their OOC.  It's a joke.  They need to address that or quit complaining about their placement.
