Texas vs. Wyoming Game Day Thread

We'd better find a reliable kicker soon, because this vanilla offense isn't going to pull away from good teams. Very disappointed in our frosh K, Nick Jordan. He either choked or the holds were bad.

How soon will Fera heal?

I think it was just jitters... but then again he was 1-2 with an extra point blocked. Fera better come back soon or we lose those games we would need a kicker in. Ole Miss comes to mind.... I give Ash a lot of credit. No picks. That was my biggest concern with him. The running backs balled out. Bergeron and Brown with each over a hundy. Gray will slowly get playing time.

My observation about this team after 1 game: we ain't winning 10 games this year. No way. Unless they get a lot better real fast. Props to the guys for a win tonight though. #HOOKEM!

Ash looked great on the short stuff, his long passing is beyond horrible.Entire D, except for Hicks & Vaccaro, should be upset with themselves.

Kicking game is an embarrassment.

LOTS to work on.....

It reminds me a HELL of a lot of the 2010 Rice game. Yeah, they won, but you sensed a shitload of trouble on the horizon.

Now that said, different kids, different staff, lets see what they do next week.

The positives:

- ANY game without an interception by our QBs should be celebrated

- ANY game with 2 100-yard rushers is a great thing

- DJ is getting lots of touches and eventually that will mean more explosive plays

- Daje will play soon and that will mean more explosive plays

- Ash is fitting into the role of the short-passing game manager we wanted. We need to lay off of even trying to go deep with him. Those 3 deep under-throws will be interceptions against OU.

The first quarter defense was absolutely a discrace. The Lake Travis defense would have outperformed us in that first quarter. They pulled it together after that but for a moment I could see a regression in games won (thinking 7 games was more realistic). Sam with David Ash. The first drive I thought we were screwed going 3 & out. Ash threw the ball more than I expected him too. With the exception of the bad snap I thought he did pretty good.

Likk Sarge I fear the future but hope they mkae the necessary asjustments. This kicking game doesn't shape up, we lose a few games we normally wouldn't.
