Texas vs USC in Mexico City?

...I would simply love to fly up to mexico city, to attend a "texas vs usc" grid iron matchup. talk about a fun, fabulous, and far out way to maximize our famous brand...

I would go to Mexico City and have fun, but I don't especially care one way or the other about whether we play there. I will go to both those games...don't care where they're played.

Count me as already there.I know someone with an penthouse apartment overlooking Chapultapec Park.

The guy is an architect and the guest bedroom has this beautifully tiled shower with a long, large horizontal window at about chest height.

It's like you are showering in the rain forest. Greatest shower ever.

He went to UT as well.

Gonna be fun, I can't wait.
Since I don't know anybody with a rainforest shower in Mexico City i think the whole concept is stupid.

I'll be there! We've been retired in Mexico, along with about 2 million other Americans, and would love to see a strong Texas brand here so we might be able to see more games here on Mexican TV.

It's sort of like this

Except overlooking this

and think of all the food spots you can find

These comments about him insulting the fan base seem a little much. Would I prefer USC visit DKR and Texas visit The Colisuem? Yes. But expanding the brand and increasing the presence is never a bad thing.

Not so much offending the fan base, how about recognizing the support they give to the team and play a top tier game at home. Not many have the time, let alone money to travel to a foreign country to support our team. All of that money has already been given to the foundation to secure our season tickets. Of course we would also hate to offend our massive UT ex population of retirees in Mexico!

I think the best way to handle it would be a Home-Home-Neutral.

In order:

Texas

USC

Mexico City

that would be a great solution to the issue. i can see both sides of this and either way it goes is going to be criticized now that the prospect has been raised. there are only a few national brands that could pull it off successfully and texas and usc are two of them. i also see the other side. it makes sense to arrange a neutral site rubber game to the series. an even better solution would be a permanent round robin series between usc, notre dame and texas, wrapping in a couple of games down there.

i actually love the idea of a game down there, i just don't want to give up the idea of a home and home. maybe there's a compromise solution here.

I don't get this idea at all. College football is inherently American, playing one football game in another country will hardly provide any international visibility and sacrifices a home game.

Love it, thanks.

There is your choice folks --

You are either in the rainforest shower with me,

or,

You are in bed with aggy.

I understand it from a branding and media perspective but as a fan, taking a home game away from DKR sucks, especially against a popular football school.

He appears to be saying this match-up would not cost a home game.
