I thought I was watching a free throw shooting contest. Basketball is hard to watch with all the ticky-tack fouls. I'm not sure Shaka's system is built for Texas' current roster. He'll need to get some up and down the floor athletes in Austin. Ibeh, Ridley, Lammert, etc. are all solid bigs, but aren't going to run the floor and get in passing lanes.

Agree, but a coach should be able to simply coach basketball fundamentals to fit his roster. Basketball is basketball. This team was decent last year and returned essentially an entire roster of upperclassman. I'm missing the Rick Barnes tough defense right now.

I was successfully able to get the bad taste of #TexasHoops out of my mouth by watching Kansas win the Maui Invitational.

The contrast in offensive motion and execution was stark. Nobody was standing around waiting for their PG to penetrate and throw up an off-balance prayer.

Texas A&M beats Gonzaga today and will play in the Championship game on Friday.

Per ESPN, the aggy team the Horns lost to is supposed to be their best ever, the same aggy team that beat #10 Gonzaga. I didn't watch the game last night because I don't get that channel but I think once the Horns get used to Smart's style of play, they will be fine. So put me on the list that Texas will beat UTA.
