Texas vs tech weekend series

Most lefties are wild, and a little wildness helps. Best lefty I ever saw was wild early in his carreer. Sandy K.

Hurley did come out for the top of the 5th, but gets pulled.

Hurley's line for the day: 76 pitches: 1 hit, 3 hit batters, 4 strikeouts, 3 walks, and 1 run.

Correction  Texas  5-1, missed the 4th run earlier in the game.

Texas gave up another solo homer to Kash, but got out of the top of the 6th with a 5-2 lead.

Texas half of the 6th: 1 out, bases loaded, 1 run already scored, and tech goes to the bullpen for the 5th time I believe maybe 6th?

Thru 6 innings: Texas 7-2.

Texas has now scored 7 or more runs in 12 of the 14 games in this home stand.

Oh hells bells. After each team scores a run in the 7th. Texas was leading

8-3.

Top of the 8th tech has come roaring back with 9 batters to the plate and still batting. Now 8-7 in the top of the 8th. Texas is leading.

Ace Whitehead  comes in to get the final out in the 8th. Texas leads 8-7, but needs to get some hits and runs in the bottom of the 8th.

The relievers didn't come in with the right  mindset in the last couple of innings.

Well we won  in walk off fashion.

Tech ties it up in the top of the 9th at 8 each.

Texas gets it's  5th homer in the game in the bottom of the 9th to get the win. 9-8.

Texas wins ALL 14 games in the home stand.

Texas now has the longest win streak in college baseball at 14.

Unfortunately, we now go on the road to the cult land to the east on Tuesday then go to Okie Lite next weekend.

Bats woke up and answered the questions there during the stand.

Defense, which was really sloppy early, has too.

Pitching has found a handful of decently reliable arms but still a lot of questions there. Witt coming back healthy would be a nice boost there.

I believe he transferred after last season to tech.  He would most likely be the starting 1st baseman for us this year over Thomas.
From what I saw this weekend, I'll take Thomas over Kash.

The walk off HR on Sunday was a bomb! Tech LF moved just his head to watch the ball!

The soft spot in the schedule really helped some guys grow up and get confidence. Really showed this weekend! Big sweep!

I was really worried after the first 3 weeks. But the team looks much improved!

Kash had a good weekend too. He's definitely the better play at this point. I'm not sure why he transferred.

Jared Thomas 214 avg, 314 slg, 313 OBP with 1 HR and 8 RBIs

Kash 437 avg, 825 slg, 500 OBP with 9 HR and 38 RBIs.

Man, don't ruin my Burnt Orange delusion with facts!

Thomas, who is just a freshman, made a great defensive play last night that probably saved a run that Kash probably wouldn't have!
