Texas vs tech weekend series

This is the opening series for big 12 play for Texas.  

Friday night recap.  Gordon and the tech starter both got to the 6th inning before leaving.  

Former Texas  player Kash hit a homer in the game. 

Texas got the lead in the 6th 3-2. Added 3 more runs in the 7th.  

Game 1 went to Texas 6-2. Texas is now on a 12 game win streak all on the current 14 game home stand.

Tech came in at 17-4 taking 2 of 3 from Okie Lite last weekend.

BTW, both Okie Lite and TCU were the preseason top 2 teams in the big 12. Both combime went 1-5 last weekend in opening conference series.

Game 2: thru 2.5 innings  1-0 tech. Sthele gave up a solo homer in the top of the 2nd.  Should've have had some called balls called strikes in IMO in the top of the 3rd. 

We finally get a hit in the bottom of the 3rd from our catcher Galvan, who hits his 2nd homer.

Got to make the tech starter throw more pitches.

After 3:  1-1.

Top 4th: Sthele gets pulled for LBJ. Sthele gave up 4 walks, 4 hits, 3 earned runs?  Guessing LBJ isn't starting on Sunday.

Bottom 4th: bad base running getting an out at 3rd. Brown does get a RBI double. Should've scored more in the bottom of the 4th IMO.

After 4: 3-2 tech.

Nothing doing for either team in the 5th.   They had Kirk Dressendorfer, 1988-1990, on with Greg and Keith as Kirk  was honored and jersey retired today.

That was a bomb he hit, I didn't realize he was an ex-Texas player.

I believe he transferred after last season to tech.  He would most likely be the starting 1st baseman for us this year over Thomas.

Texas scores 2 in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead 4-3. 

Going to the 7th. 

Texas has scored something like 31 or 32 runs in the 6th inning, most of any inning.

5-3 Horns bottom of 8th. 1 out abd pitching change Texas still atbat. Big insurance run.

Neither Shaw or Morehouse could get the final oit before tech ties it up in the top of the 9th.  A wild pitch that didn't get but like 3 feet away and the tech runner on 3rd ties to come home is out at the plate. On to the bottom of the 9th.  Damn it!

Morehouse pitched yesterday . If big lefty is not hurt why not use him? Has the pitching coach blown anothergame? Or will Hornscome back?

They came back took the coach of the hook.

Texas returns the favor from 1 of last year's game in Lubbock.

Brown gets a double. Then a balk gets him to 3rd. Wild pitch amd Brown scores.

13 game win streak.

That was the play where Tech stole home off of Nixon. Nixon wasn't the same after that game, he let it get deep in his head.

The starter for Texas is Charlie Hurley.

The softball is winning in the top of the 7th BTW.

After 2 innings complete Texas  up 3-0. A 2 run homer in the 1st and a solo in the 2nd.

Bottom of 4th 3-1 Horns. Hurley's wildness gave up a run still no hits.

Thru 4 innings.  Texas 4-1. Texas has 3 homers in the game.

If Hurley comes back out for the 5th: he needs to settle down on the walks and hitting batters. Hurley came into the game without hitting any batter snd has hit 3 today.
