Notes:

SHSU has played 5 games against Big 12 teams.  They have a 3-2 record against them, recording losses against Baylor (5-1) and Tech (11-6,) and a 3-game sweep of Oklahoma.  They also took 2 of 3 against Wichita St.  last weekend in Kansas.  In that series, they hit .320 as a team, racking up 28 runs in their two victories.

Texas has lost to SHSU the last two times they've played in Austin, (2013 & 2015.)

Texas is currently hitting .247 as a team this season.  One of their challenges stem from 103 Ks vs 40 BBs.  The good news is the Ks are not predominantly backwards Ks.  The players are taking aggressive approaches at the plate, sometimes to a fault, getting behind early in counts.  Defensive miscues are also causing some concern.

The Longhorns go on the road Thursday to Los Angeles, for a 3-game set against #19 UCLA Friday-Sunday.
