In earlier Houston Baseball Classic action today:

Houston stayed undefeated with their 9-0 thumping of Texas Tech.

SHSU is up on TCU 7-0 in the 9th.

Texas game may start a few minutes late, depending upon when the SHSU/TCU game finishes. Stay tuned.

Rice lineup:

Stainback 2B

Hoelscher 3B

Ewing 1B

Aquino LF

Reeves C

Byrd SS

Kopycinski DH

Quick update: In B-9, TCU isn't finished yet. TCU scores three on a homerun and is still batting in B-9, now trailing SHSU 9-3

This weekend is not going to be easy by any stretch.

SHSU defeats the Horned Frogs 9-4.

The Texas v. Rice game has a scheduled first pitch at 7:35 pm

Another quick note: the TexasSports audio is a pay-per-listen event. It's not free. Sorry to disappoint.

Word from LHN is that Augie/Skip opted for Peters over French because they felt that French has been struggling a bit getting ahead of pitchers, and against a team like Rice that has been hitting well, we needed someone to get ahead in the count early.

The Rocket is going to throw out the first pitch tonight.

Hook Em, Boys! Let's get this rolling

#15 Rice v. #22 Texas about to get going.

Texas takes the field first in their all whites with burnt orange undershirt sleeves.

Rice wearing their road blue jerseys with gray pants. I believe their feathers are well tucked in.
