They're kids. Scare 'em.The lost weekend in Lincoln. If I were the head coach, (and I know I don't have the experience of some on this board *cough GBT cough*)this would be the one that I would lose it on them. It's been my experience that you really only have 1 true explosion a year or it loses its effectiveness.
This is a good time because you get to yell and cuts but you are still in first place in conference at the end of it. It's the baseball equivalent of calling a time out when someone cuts a 15 point lead to 10 in basketball.
"Lollygaggers."  :lol:Exactly, they lolly gag the ball around the infield, they loly gag their way down to first, they lolly gag in and out of the dugout!
What does that make 'em Joeywa!?!
You will be disappointed if you expect change. Our approach at the plate has been the same for several years. It sucks and it shows in series against good pitching like Nebraska has, or appears to have against our bats. The answer is in the dugout. It's the players. They had a bad weekend. Happens. Just need to wipe the slate clean and get back to business on Tuesday.
Almost everything Nebraska hit this weekend found a hole. Just about everything Texas hit found a mitt. NU played out of their minds defensively this weekend. Their OF was like a huge net. They played defense out there the way that Texas typically does. The errors we had did not really cost us.
Offensively, our players probably need to address their mental approach at the plate. Maybe take a pitch or two. Let's try to mix in a few QAB's and not try to hit HRs every time up. Swinging for the fences is not productive. Get baserunners, move baserunners. Basics.
I'm looking forward to the games next week to see what changes. Tuesday will be a good gauge of this.
