*****Texas vs. Kansas State Game Thread*****

BTW, the bye week and some time in the pit healed my leg. Was able to jump around my living room w/o any pain! Beer time now!

Love the win. Game would not have been close had the Horns not taken their foot off the gas mid 2nd qtr. Congrads Charlie.

Did Heard get hurt
I am wondering if his banged up his leg on that last run but if he did, I don't suspect it was major. Watching the LHN so hopefully will hear from the coaches or him.

I'm sure there are a few golfing coyotes out there that want too.  But this is a wonderful win over a team that's had our number for a long time.
Not complaining. Just giving an opinion on a discussion board. Which, apparently, isn't always okay with some people.

And I agree with you about it being a wonderful win over a team that's had our number for awhile.

My thoughts

1. I am mildly concerned with Jerrod Heard's passing. He not only needs success, he needs to step it up a notch. That said, I'll take the win any way I can get it.

2. Our WRs are blocking very well.

3. MJ had a good game, but got tied up with blockers a lot during the middle of the game.

4. I am nervous when Swoopes passes the ball. But I did like the play call.

5. IMO, Cottrell has become our best DE. I had thought that would be Shiro Davis, but Cottrell is getting better with each game.

6. OL was hit and miss today. Sometimes just miss. But the overall product is getting better.

7. Feel bad for Boyd. He hustled hard to get that ball and keep it inbounds. No one there to grab it unfortunately.

8. Jason Hall is a fine safety and will be special before he's done. But as much as we criticize Dylan, time after time he's in the right spot at the right time.

9. The old Texas team would have panicked when K-State grabbed momentum and pulled within a touchdown. The growing up version fought back and put the game away, taking advantage of a KSU miscue.

10. Daje Johnson sure looks focused. I go to my feet every time he touches the ball.

I think Heard needs work on his passing. He came into the season as the number 2, without first team reps. That hurts.

I had an opportunity to go to this game, but had to decline. I was very disappointed. It was unfortunate because this game fell at the end of a week when I had to have routine tests run, see md, and have treatment. Oh, well, next year. I am very blessed. MD was very pleased with test results, and I feel pretty darn good.

We won! Hook 'em!

It's difficult to judge Heard today, or really any QB for that matter. It was obvious both QBs couldn't grip the ball. The game was ugly but that was expected with the weather conditions. I'm actually impressed with Heard in the sense he didn't turn the ball over. Heard didn't turn the ball over and that's what wins games in weather conditions like today.

You nailed this.

Heard seems to be one of those rare athletes that has a short term memory and no nerves. It's very impressive and, in my experience, pretty rare. He excels under pressure and plays under control. He needs to develop and refine a few skills, but we don't know what his ceiling is.

Hook 'em!

Anybody know if any recruits were in town for the game? Wouldn't have enjoyed the rain if they were!

The errors in the kicking game almost cost the Horns a 3rd game today. This is getting ridiculous. Surely there is someone on campus that can snap a ball. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Nate Boyer have any relatives with eligibility?
