Texas vs Iowa State - Big 12 tourney QF

Agree Felix could have waited to run the clock down, but maybe they wouldn't have gotten such an open look. If he drains it he is a hero. Agree with the earlier post that the Taylor run down the clock ISO crap was not effective in the second half. That is not the offense that was great for most of the game. Actually, I don't think it is actually an offense (unless Jordan is on the court). Barnes letting that ISO offense run was a amateur move. At least don't run the clock down to nothing before making a move. The only option seemed to be the dribble drive by Taylor. That worked earlier when it was in rhythm with the offense and not simply a desperate attempt to get to the rim at the end of the shot clock.

Taylor missing the ten games definitely hurt the team, were unable to develop an identity (a positive one that is) in his absence. He commanded the offense well most of the game, confident and successful. Lapses with the ten second call were poor, Lammert with the crappy inbounds pass that got stolen was poor. He should have called a TO instead of a lob to the shortest guy on the court.

You fire Rick Barnes who do you get?  And don't say "anybody."  Think logically about this.

Racking up a +.700 winning percentage in the Missouri Valley Conference or Atlantic 10 is admirable but a different ballgame than the Big 12.

Rick Barnes was Big 12 Coach of the Year last year, don't forget.
