not sure why we have to designate a closer at this point. marlow's been hurt. not sure its wise to designate him anything until we see how he does. i love the kid too. he's a gritty guy who reminds me a bit of huston street in size and temperament. duke and cooper have been just as effective. if thornhill moves into the starting rotation, maybe that's ok, but you've still got schiraldi and others who've done well.
we really do have an embarrassment of riches at the pitching position.

Yep so many options. IMO Marlow is the best option though at closer. Comes in and throws strikes, which is the most important thing as a closer. I agree though his health may need to be evaluated a little longer until he's given the title outright. I think Marlow will end up being the closer though. I actually like Curtiss as a set up man. I also like Schiraldi in the set up roll. Don't think Schiraldi will be getting his starting gig back though. It really is insane how many pitchers we have.

One thing I took away from last night. Felts deserves to be in the starting lineup.

He is in at DH and that's a good spot sometimes for him. He's a role player right now, and won't see time at C, as Monte and Tres are better options.

I agree. I like Tres behind the plate. I like Felts in the batting rotation though. Such a smart hitter. Works counts and is a clutch hitter.
