****Texas vs Cal Baseball Official Game 4 Thread****

I've heard enough about these losses being good learning experiences. The only thing I've learned is we are not a good team. Not even close. And it was evident last weekend as well.

We are not recruiting well and haven't for quite a while.
^^^^^^^^ THIS!!! ^^^^^^^

Augie is one of college baseball's all-time best coaches, but everyone hits the end at some point. Skip Johnson is a good pitching coach, definitely not a head coach. Without doing any research, so I could be wrong, but I don't think he ever reached the JC World Series at Navarro and had hellacious talent. As soon as he left, Whoa Dill led Navarro to the JC championship. Hmmmmmm.

Regional schools like A&M, Rice, Houston, TCU, Arkansas are recruiting better players than Texas. I can only imagine what Dave Van Horn would do with the kids he'd get in Texas.

The Texas AD is going to have to step up and make a tremendously difficult decision this spring and let one of college baseball's all-time great coaches go.

It has to be done.

Augie may be done
He was done 3 years ago, except we got a sweet regional, got lucky that UH beat LSU, and went into Omaha and road a hot pitching staff to the 9th inning of our bracket's elimination game.

Nothing has changed from a recruiting standpoint to the development of the players once they are on campus. Augie's preferred style of baseball is ancient and mathematics have proven it's one of the least efficient way to maximize scoring runs.
